Wishlist Spring 2012

Since the trains aren't going anywhere and so I am not going anywhere as well, I have a day to spend at home. What better to do during these winter days then making a wishlist for spring? Here's just a short list of pretty much just the basics that I would really like to have before the new season.

1. Leather (look) jacket in a light colour. I've never really liked black for biker jackets for me, though some people wear it very well. Black is just not really my colour and so I opt for a mushroom kind of shade. Topshop.com

2. Earrings in, of course, orange! I like this colour for accessories a lot and so I would easily go for this pair as well. Newlook.com

3. A peplum top! This is a creation by the lovely Stella McCartney, I would probably go for a piece that is a little less expensive though, haha!

Today I am wearing my new lace dress, or actually it isn't that new but I haven't shown it at my blog. I really like it , the lace gives the cream dress just that little extra. And since the 20's are making a huge comeback, you can find them at almost every store.
I combined it with my new (arrived fresh in the mail today) clutch, which is the same design as my new bag. I love them both and I think I will be carrying them around a lot!

I like wearing delicate fabrics like chiffon, spiced up with a knit to make it more day like. I bought the skirt and the knit both in Antwerp last week, during a major shopping spree. I'll show you the rest of the damage later on!

I just found my Ted Baker bag again, which I couldn't find for months. It seemed that I accidentally packed it with all kinds of old clothing and bags which I'd stacked somewhere in the back of my closet. I'm so happy that I found it again!
I am wearing my new striped oversize knit today, bought it on sale. I like clothing that does not require you looking after it the whole time while wearing. It doesn't really matter how this 'hangs' on your body, it is actually quite nice if it has a slouchy look! Perfect for the weekend if you ask me.

P.S. I'm having Lookbook trouble at the moment, I wanted to change my email address but then I had to fill in everything again (username etc) and now I cannot log in anymore :p Is there anyone of you who knows what to do? I guess I'll just have to send an email to Lookbook explaining it haha.

Winter Treasure

As I mentioned earlier, I do have a special love for capes. However, I am not really able to wear mine when it is freezing cold outside. Luckily, it still isn't that bad, but when the winter will finally arrive in The Netherlands, I'd like to be prepared. Hence the coat I bought last week, a grey woolen (it has got the woolmark label), really long one. It is calf length! I found it by accident when I was browsing eBay, and I got it for only 30 pounds! I cannot wait to wear it and when I do, I will show you a picture!

For a school assignment, I had to go browse through the Internet and magazines to collect all kinds of innovations in the field of styling. I bumped into some pictures of Visionaire Magazine and found out that they made an issue, called ' Larger than Life', which has mind blowing measurements. The smallest magazine is 3 x 4 feet and they have a 'deluxe edition' which is even larger. How's that for innovation! No surprise that they hold record with this in the Guinness Book of Records! If you're planning on buying it, make sure you're up for some serious wallet damage, they're not exactly cheap..

Simple outfits are honestly the ones I like to wear the most, especially when they're comfy too. These trousers for example are so soft, I don't think I will ever put them away, haha!
When it comes to colours, I am still a sucker for nudes and all soft tones. I do have some really colourful items, but I always try to match them with soft shades to create some kind of balance.
In this outfit I thought the pink zipper at the back of my blouse added just a little extra, something that colour can do very well in my opinion. What do you think?

The Button Swap pt. 2

When I saw this blazer in stores a couple of weeks ago, I especially liked the collar and the over all shape. I didn't really like the buttons, cause they had a really cold shiny plastic look. So, as I did before, I decided to put another pair on it and in my opinion it looks much better now. The fabric isn't great either, but for only 29,95, it was worth a shot ;)

When I went for a little shopping spree yesterday, I visited Zara and found two of my 'basic wishlist' items. I really wanted a chunky, oversized knitted sweater and a top with breton stripes. Although the last one looks really simple, it has some nice detailing (zipper on the shoulder) and it's made out of thick cotton. What do you think? :)

These are the sale's final treasures I've found. I love a simple oversized sweater with stripes in soft tones, so this one was just perfect. It got even better when I saw the price, only 12 euros! The tan flat leather sandals are the same as I already have in a taupe colour, the fit is soo great, I would recommend them to anyone. The coloured necklace is a good addition to a plain outfit and the wedges I just find really nice.

I have to say, being back in The Netherlands is kind of a disapointment, the weather still sucks! So I had a hard time figuring out what to wear today, I was pretty used to being able to wear all my summer clothes during my holiday and now I have to wear a long-sleeved jumper again..

The weather in The Netherlands is terrible again, it is raining like crazy and it is way too cold for this time of the year. And one of the most annoying things about this is that I really don't know what to wear! My closet is packed with all kinds of summer clothing, and most pieces are just too cold for now. Ofcourse I have got a couple of jackets and jeans etc etc, but I think it is such a pity not being able to wear your summer dresses. I mean, if we can't wear them now, when can we? So yes, I am kind of frustrated :p
Do you have back-up plans for bad weather in summer?

I like wearing comfortable and easy stuff in summer. This blouse is one of my favourites, it's so soft and floaty, just perfect! Combined with the leather sandals and the straw bag I showed you before, it makes a basic and simple outfit, just the way I like it.

Pink on Pink, Brown on Brown

Wearing my pink shirt again today, only this time together with brown shorts. I didn't quite know what shoes I had to go with, cause if I chose brown shoes, it would be all brown from the waist to the feet. Then I thought it could be kind of funny to put on a pink necklace, so that the amount of pink and brown would be exactly the same!

Finally, as promised, here's a tutorial to make the drape top I showed you in my previous outfit.

The ingredients:

1. Waterfall Cardigan

2. A top with skinny shoulder straps

3. A belt

The Tutorial:

Take the left side of the front of your cardigan.
Tuck it in to the shoulderstrap of your top on your right shoulder.
Do the same on the other side.
Take a belt, or if you like just a ribbon, and gather the hemline, draping a bit fabric over your belt/ribbon. The difference here is that a belt probably stays visible and a ribbon doesn't. I'm now wearing it with a belt, but in my previous outfit with a ribbon, so you can see the difference and choose what you like best.
Finished! I think it is an easy way to spice up your boring old cardigan, isn't it? :)

After trying to sell this cardigan for at least six months, I gave up trying. I wanted to give it to a dump store, but then I got this idea. I wrapped it , draped and knotted it and this is the result. I am actually quite happy with it and I decided to keep it for now, haha! One of my favourite dresses of all times is this super simple grey sweat dress. It has a really soft touch and it can easily be dressed up or down. I found it in a second hand store a while ago with the labels cut off, so I can't tell you where it's from. It was such a bargain, and to me a real treasure!

Shopping / Perfect Wedges

I was scanning through eBay in search of the perfect summer dress. I wanted something floaty, with a touch of boho. Never found it. However, I did buy a pair of taupe, suede wedges. Quite different from the dress I wanted, but just as perfect. I have some really nice ideas on how to pair them up, so stay tuned for the outfits!

p.s. I made a few changes on my blog, I edited the width of the layout and I will post bigger pictures from now on. I still have all my previous posts, I just didn't want to have pictures of different sizes on the same page.
